INFOGRAPHIC IS FANTASTIC!

Hello explorers! I am back with a brand new experience which is called making an INFOGRAPHIC! It was given as an assignment by our instructor. Among the topics listed, cyberbullying caught my attention immediately as it is a common issue nowadays.  For this assignment, I wanted to make an informational infographic since my goal was to give a general idea about what cyberbullying is and how it affects people.

I utilized Canva for this task due to the fact that it is very easy to use and make adjustments on the visuals. Moreover, there are many images related to any topic you can imagine. As a result, I did not face serious challanges while using this app. One thing I struggled with was giving references. I wanted to give full web sites but it did not turn out visually appealing. As a solution, I embedded the links to the web sites’ names so the readers could reach the sources without ethical problems.

Infographics are beneficial for English learners for a lot of reasons. For example, they are comprehensible and easy to grasp as they are short and clear. Furthermore, with the help of interesting and related visual content, information is more memorable for the readers. The visual content also enhances vocabulary learning process especially for visual learners. By creating an infographic, students develop their critical thinking skills. I tried different ways to develop my creativity and put myself in the shoes of the readers. While I was designing my infographic I frequently asked myself questions like:

·      How can I integrate this information into my infographic?

·      What can I do to make it more useful?

·      What can I do to make it look more appealing?

·      How can my students use this information in their lives?
