ME? I AM A DIGITAL STORY WRITER!

Hello explorers, I hope you are ready for another creative idea! Because here I am with a great idea that I tried and think you will definitely love too. It is called digital storytelling. We were given this task by our instructor to internalize the use of digital tools in the language teaching and learning process. Let me tell you about my experiences. 

 

We made a story called “Ben the Bear Searching What to Wear”. It is an educational story for young learners. In this story, Kate who is a little girl doesn’t know what to wear, so her friend Ben the bear helps her out! However, in the end, the unexpected happens! Do not worry I will not spoil it.

 

First I and Yunus Emre KOÇAK, my sweet partner, needed to find an idea to animate. Yes, we decided to make an animated short story. Emre took on the animation and editing duty. Also he narrated the story and also voice acted the character Ben. He nailed it, of course as expected.

 

My role in this task was to write the script and voice acting the girl Kate. As the story is for young learners, I thought that using rhymes would add a melodic atmosphere as it would make the vocabulary more memorable. And I think I succeeded with the outcome! Maybe I should become a poet. But if we had had more time, we would have made a better animation, probably. Still, this task shows that we are creative teachers and we can improve ourselves in time!
